The Natural beauty and bounty of the Hudson River Valley provide gentle inspiration for the paintings of Robin Guthridge. A native of rural Columbia County in upstate New York, she often paints the local scenery along the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains, and to the north in the Lake George and Adirondack regions.

Her oil paintings and pastels express a deep personal attachment to the landscape, telling a story part fact and part imagination about rolling meadows, mountain sunsets and tree lined fields. Her watercolors harvest the rich colors and textures of autumn apples and pears and the soft details of bird’s eggs and nests –rendered with a fine and meticulous brush. A single fruit is often isolated in pristine white space, plucked from countless others and displayed alone to intensify the focus on its own unique qualities.

A graduate of the State University of New York, The College at New Paltz, Ms. Guthridge earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Cum Laude in Graphic Design. Robin is primarily a self-taught painter, influenced by her artistic family, and The Hudson River School and Contemporary Realism styles.
